Focus SUP Hawaii builds quality standup paddleboards, skateboards and other products and we seek always to develop and improve our manufacturing and materials processes.

Duration of Warranty - Paddleboards

For Paddleboards, the warranty (described in more detail below) is for 90 days.

Duration of Warranty – Skateboards, Surfboards, Inflatables, Accessories and Other Products

For Skateboards Surfboards, Inflatables, Accessories and Other Products, the warranty (described in more detail below) is for 30 days.

What the Warranty Covers

Focus SUP Hawaii warrants to the original retail purchaser from our website or our Canoga Park, California office, or an authorized Focus SUP Hawaii dealer, that a new Focus SUP Hawaii product (paddleboard body, paddle and fins, skateboard, surfboard, inflatable, accessory or other product) will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for 90 days (paddleboard) or 30 days (skateboard, surfboard, inflatable, accessories and other products) from your original date of purchase from us or from the authorized Focus SUP Hawaii dealer. 

How to Make a Warranty Claim

If you believe your Focus SUP Hawaii product to be defective during its warranty period, please immediately contact us. To make a warranty claim you must, within the number of days in the warranty period for that item, starting from the original purchase date, provide us the following:

  • Return the product to us. You bear the expense to return the product to us at our Canoga Park, California office.
  • Proof of having purchased the product from our website or from our Canoga Park, California office or from an authorized Focus SUP Hawaii dealer within the 90 days (paddleboard) or 30 days (skateboard, surfboard, inflatable, accessories and other products) prior to return. Typically the proof of purchase is the original purchase receipt showing the seller, date of purchase and item(s) purchased.
  • Serial # of product. You will find this printed on the product itself.
  • A written description, photo or drawing showing the claimed defect. A short video (one minute or less) may be submitted. But if the defect makes the product dangerous to use, please do not use it to make a photo or video.
  • Your contact information: name, address, phone number, email address, where we may reach you.

We appreciate, though we do not require, if you will please submit the claim within seven (7) days after you become aware of the claimed defect.  This seven (7) day period does not extend the length of the warranty.

We will review the warranty claim and contact you to request any additional information and/or let you know our conclusions and what we will do.

What We Will Do

In the event of a defect in workmanship or materials Focus SUP Hawaii will, at our option and at our expense, repair or replace the product or refund your purchase price. For defect in a board or paddle, if we elect replacement, we may replace just the board or just the paddle. If we elect to replace a product, replacement with the same model, art and design may not be possible.  Replacement may be a comparable product. We will try to make any repair, replacement or refund to you within ten (10) business days after we receive all information and the returned product. But it could take longer.

Exceptions and Exclusions

The warranty does not cover, and Focus SUP Hawaii will not provide warranty benefits for a product obtained from any source other than our website or our Canoga Park, California office or an authorized Focus SUP Hawaii dealer.  This warranty does not apply to a product used commercially or rented or leased, even if a defect was not caused by the commercial use, rental or lease. This warranty does not apply to a defect or damage consisting of or caused by:

  • cosmetic defect.
  • excessive or abnormal use (the warranty covers only normal use).
  • impact with any material or object, for example, dents, cracks or punctures from contact with rocks, glass, edges or any other objects.
  • scratching from contact with rocks, glass or any other objects.
  • use other than the use for which the product was intended by us.
  • transport, loading, unloading, dropping, jostling or impact related to transport.
  • out-of-water handling of product.
  • non-recreational use.
  • heat or excessive sun exposure such as direct sunlight, or extended time in a vehicle or board bag.
  • water damage from storage in water.
  • surfing or surfing related activity or being in a surf area.
  • racing or taking part in a race.
  • previous repair.
  • pressure dents from knees, elbows or items exerting pressure, and discoloration and color fading over time, are not damage or defects and are not covered by the warranty.

Transferability.

This warranty is not transferable.

Other Warranty Conditions

An item that we replace, becomes the property of Focus SUP Hawaii and will not be returned. The replacement product may be new or refurbished to Focus SUP Hawaii’s standard of quality, and, at our option, may be a similar model of like kind and quality. Focus SUP Hawaii’s liability for replacement of a product will not exceed the product’s original retail price. The warranty period on a replaced or repaired product does not start anew but will receive the remaining warranty period of your original product covered by this warranty.

Limitation of Remedies and of Liability

THE WARRANTY AND REMEDY PROVIDED ABOVE ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. SOME LAWS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY, THEN ALL EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE WARRANTY PERIOD IDENTIFIED ABOVE. UNLESS STATED HEREIN, ANY STATEMENT OR REPRESENTATIONS MADE BY ANY OTHER PERSONS OR FIRM ARE VOID. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY, FOCUS SUP HAWAII SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, INJURY, INCONVENIENCE, OR DAMAGE, INCLUDING DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, RESULTING FROM USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE FOCUS SUP HAWAII PRODUCT, WHETHER RESULTING FROM BREACH OF WARRANTY OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE THEORY.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, and some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you special legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
