Best in downwind conditions. The board provides stability and maintains speed in calm conditions because of a lower entry rocker that maximizes the water line, a con-caved bottom shape, and hard rails. The perfect combination of a slender outline and volume distribution will allow you to ride a narrower board than what you are used to. The Bluefin is the go-to board of Elite racer Mo Freitas. It embraces racing design derived from extensive racing, testing, and product development.

Just bought my second Bluefin. I have raced and trained on a 14x26 and it has been reliable, fast and has held up to a beating over time. I just bought a 14x23 Bluefin Turbo to up my game in calmer conditions and couldn't be happier with the second purchase and all the help received from the staff at Focus.
I was nervous about getting this board at first since I had never paddled anything that narrow. I was surprised that it was even more stable than my 25in wide board. Love the slightly recessed deck. works great in the bump and super fast in the flats too
I raced the other iterations of this board over the years and this is major leap forward as an all-around racer. It maintains the great rough water performance that the previous versions had while greatly improving the flatwater speed. The downwind performance is also improved with this version, it catches bumps easier and the nose stays up a bit more. The thicker nose profile and new rocker lines keep the nose a bit higher and drier while moving through the water more efficiently. I've found flatwater speed to be on par with most other all-around race shapes on the market, I won my first race on the board in relatively flat conditions. This board also loves to milk the smallest bumps which can really add up racing. The new found speed gave up a little bit of the bomber stability of the previous version, but it is still totally manageable for a 23" wide board. The increased volume carries my 205 lbs better than the previous version. Well done Focus, a huge performance leap while still keeping in friendly, this is my current go-to raceboard for everything.
